In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, finding moments of stillness and reflection can often seem like an elusive pursuit. Yet, in the Bible, we discover a timeless source of wisdom, solace, and guidance that transcends the frenetic pace of our world.

Love: Bible Meditations is an invitation to encounter the living Word of God in a personal and transformative way. As you immerse yourself in these meditations, may you be encouraged to pause, ponder, and allow the truths of Scripture to illuminate your path, bringing clarity, peace, and renewed purpose to your life.

Whether read in quiet solitude, shared with loved ones, or used as a guide for group study and reflection, this collection offers a sanctuary amidst the noise of the world—a sacred space where hearts are opened, minds are renewed, and souls are nourished by the eternal truths found within the pages of the Bible.

Grace and Truth is a 41-day devotional for Lent, Holy Week, and Easter, with daily readings from the Gospel of John, daily hymns, and daily prayers. The solemn season of Lent is not a requirement, but rather an opportunity for us to make space for God; opening ourselves to what God could be doing in our lives. With readings from the Gospel of John and hymns and prayers for each day, we hope that Grace and Truth will assist you in making space for God.

Stories are all around. They give us knowledge and they fire our imagination. Stories are amazing. They tell us about places near or far and make them seem so real to us that we experience the sights, sounds, and smells. Stories are powerful. They shape what we believe and how we behave. Stories make us what we are.

Some of the most powerful stories are those about Jesus, who said and did amazing things. These stories teach about love and forgiveness, about sacrifice and redemption, and about faith and commitment. These stories bring hope. And although they are over two thousand years old, these stories are just as powerful today.

These pages tell just some of the stories of Jesus as presented in the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of Mark, the Gospel of Luke, and the Gospel of John. Each story includes references to the Scripture passages on which the story is based. And many stories include notes, reference glossary terms, and maps, all intended to add clarity and give perspective. It is our hope that these stories of Jesus will excite the reader and encourage them to know more.

Jesus taught that the highest possible goals for spiritual growth are to love God with all that we are, and to love others. Bible meditation and memorization can help us in doing these. As we fellowship with God by meditating on Scripture, the Holy Spirit opens our hearts to experience the depths of His love and helps us to understand “how wide and long and high and deep” is the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18). The meditation and memorization of Bible passages lead us to more fully experience “the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit” (2 Corinthians 13:14). Through the meditation and memorization of Scripture, we internalize the truth of God’s Word and we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit to obey it. Obedience to the teachings of Scripture is a love-motivated response to God. Bible meditation and memorization can strengthen us for love-empowered obedience, especially in areas where we are weak. We all struggle with thoughts, words, and images that we wish had never entered our minds. But the Holy Spirit can use Scripture to renew our minds so that we are transformed (Romans 12:2). Through the meditation and memorization of Scripture, we invite the Holy Spirit to do this. UNDER THE FIG TREE: FOUNDATIONS FOR BIBLE MEDITATION AND MEMORIZATION provides a starting point for Bible meditation and memorization. You can begin today, with God’s help and guidance. Draw closer to God and desire to obey His will. Be transformed. Be sanctified. Be in perfect peace. In short, memorize and meditate upon God's Word.

Jesus traveled throughout Israel urging people to repent and believe the gospel. He called His disciples with the command, “Follow me.” But how do we follow Jesus? We begin when we respond to His call to repent and believe the gospel—the Good News. And it awakens us to God’s grace and motivates us to want to live for Jesus and follow Him. The Bible shows us how to follow Jesus daily—by understanding and obeying His teaching and by following His example. ABIDING: THOUGHTS ON JOURNEYING WITH JESUS is a collection of writings and images that come out of the author’s journey of faith.

In Cornwall, England on Christmas Eve 1878, the choir of Truro Cathedral presented a service of carols and Scripture readings. Through this format, they presented the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus. The service was the first of what has come to be known as the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. The core of the format is to allow the songs and the readings to tell the story of Christmas, free of extensive commentary. Many church communities have adopted the tradition and have adapted the format to their annual celebrations.

Christmas Joy is a Christmas devotion of Bible passages combined with hymns and carols in the format of Lessons and Carols. Christmas Joy may be used as a personal devotion or may be used in a group setting.

The Practice of the Presence of God (1906 Edition, Optimized) Kindle Edition: After being wounded in the Thirty Years’ War and then serving for a time as a valet, Nicholas Herman from the region of Lorraine joined the Discalced Carmelite Prior in Paris. There he became a lay brother known as “Lawrence of the Resurrection,” working humbly and faithfully for over fifty years. His manner of profound peace caused many to approach him seeking spiritual guidance for their own lives. What we know of his advice to them is recorded in this collection of four conversations and sixteen letters. The work has become well-known in the Christian faith and is a highly-recommended read. Based on the 1906 edition of the work, this book features - an additional letter of Brother Lawrence (for a total of sixteen) - an excerpt from the original 1692 edition preface. These additions, combined with the interactive Table of Contents and Endnotes, make this edition a joy to read.
